Tom Holzel, Boston  

Holzel is the founder of Velocity Associates. He has  been conducting highly successful Strategic Positioning campaigns for large and small  technology companies and products.  His expertise in product assessment and the development of strategic positioning campaigns has consistently produced outstanding results for many start-ups as well as for some of the world's most respected corporations, including Raytheon, Sony, and IBM.

While still a prototype, Holzel sold a medical  flat panel digital display (to Zoll Medical) for $12m–thereby helping fund the display manufacturer’s (PixTech) IPO.  He sold a high-density low-voltage power supply to Motorola for $20m–again, while still a prototype. Holzel has been a company officer in four start-ups--American, English and French--that led to IPOs. Most recently, he helped raise $7m for a British R&D start-up in Oxfordshire, UK. With a degree in economics from Dartmouth College, he is also a recognized expert in flat panel displays. He has four patents to his credit--all sold or built. He is a prolific writer--a published author of several books and scores of magazine articles (and websites). Holzel is a Fellow of the Explorers Club and winner of the Rolex Award for Enterprise.

Anja Bernier, Boston 

Prior to joining Velocity Associates, Anja spent over a decade working in Marketing and Business Development for some of the world’s leading consumer goods companies such as Kraft Foods and Dannon. Her work experience covers 5 countries on 3 continents and includes brand responsibility for mega-brands such as Philadelphia cream cheese and Macaroni & Cheese. She has developed successful marketing and business development campaigns with multi-million $ budgets, as well as campaigns on a shoestring budget.

She graduated cum laude from the Amsterdam School of Business (The Netherlands) and the University of Applied Science Dortmund (Germany) with a Bachelor of International Business in a trilingual (German, English, Dutch) double-degree (German and Dutch) program, sponsored by the European Union.

She is sought after as a speaker at national and international conferences and has been a guest lecturer on Marketing, International Business and Entrepreneurship at Boston University (MBA program), University of Munich/Germany, Simmons College and Suffolk University.

Jonathan Lang, Washington, DC.

Founder and President of Chamber Advisors LLC in Northern Virginia,  Lang has  extensive experience in selling both products and services to the federal government utilizing the GSA Schedules and SBA HubZone and 8A certification programs.  His clients have included government entities (SPAWAR, DARPA, ONR) and large commercial enterprises (Grumman Data Systems, AT&T, MCI). He has extensive experience with start-ups, internet entities, business turnarounds, and mergers and acquisitions utilizing skills in strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, and organization development.  He propelled design and introduced first use of multi-screen presentation workstations in Pentagon and other military command and control centers worldwide. Led development and sold the first fiber optic sensor based weigh-in-motion equipment for use in Afghanistan in 2003. He acquired patent rights and designed prototype of a fiber optic switch for use in communications applications in 2001 and expanded the company’s market overseas to China, Iceland, Japan, Portugal and elsewhere.

Walter Zwick, London  

Walter Zwick is Chairman and CEO of IB Desktops Limited, a Walter Zwickprovider of hosted computer services to the small business market in Britain. Zwick was educated at Dartmouth College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  His early carrier was with Hughes Aircraft (Programmer), IBM (Sales and Systems Analysis) and Cresap, McCormick, and Paget (Management Consultant).   He was one of four Americans sent to Brussels in 1970 to establish a European practice for Cresap, then a leading strategy consulting firm.  He established his own consulting practice in 1974 working primarily with the IT directors of leading European retail companies (Woolworth, House of Fraeser, Group Printemps, etc. 

Since 1980 Zwick has been involved in strategy and financial consulting to the IT industry.  He has assisted clients in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, development of international distribution networks, and company sales.  In the role of consultant/financial advisor to the British IT industry, Zwick has worked for each of these five clients for more than ten years.  Computeraid Services had eight employs and £650,000 sales when he began assisting its management in 1981.  When sold in 2001, it had just under 1,000 staff and sales of £100 million.  Pennine Computer Services was valued at £750,000 when Zwick raised an initial venture investment in 1985.  He helped sell the company for £60 million in 1999.  Zwick has also started three IT companies that were all sold for a profit. He is an Accredited Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business .

Toshihide Yoshida Toshihide Yoshida, Tokyo, Japan
